The Shutter Shots digital photo contest is designed to capture all of the beauty, nuances and charm of Maricopa and its surrounding areas during a 24-hour period. It is a day in the life of Maricopa immortalized through digital photography so that in the future there is a collection of photos that illustrate what the City looked like on October 15 of each year.
On October 15 we will celebrate the anniversary of the City of Maricopa. One way our citizens can capture this historic day is through their camera lenses. Entering the contest is easy and free. Photographers of every age and skill level are encouraged to venture out on Wednesday, October 15 and take pictures of daily activities going on around the city. Participants will then submit their three best snapshots by 9 a.m. on Monday, October 20. Winning photos will be selected on criteria such as photographic excellence, visual impact and artistic quality. Prizes will be awarded for the best overall image in each of the Amateur, Professional and Youth categories.
